J & F Rubenstein's services are available to appraise your collection for insurance or tax purposes. I invite you to call us and talk over your needs. There is no charge for a few minutes of our time to educate a prospective client. Our lengthy tenure as coin dealers and our knowledge of the current market is available to you.

Individual coin appraisals are available at your location, or ours, by appointment only. The appraisal service fee is an hourly rate; full days are billed at lower flat rate based on 7 hours work time.

A full written appraisal is provided. On numismatic coins or currency research and documentation to substantiate values are provided. Research is billed as part of the appraisal fee, we do not have any hidden add on or surprise charges. We strive to provide complete straight forward appraisals. The appraisal provides the seller with an education as to value and marketability of their numismatic holdings.

The hourly rate is fully refunded if you decide to sell us your collection. We have found over the years that we simply pay more. With a refundable appraisal fee, nobody can meet our level of value and expertise.

We also offer a sight seen 15 minute evaluation. This is a free quick look at your holdings to determine if you should invest in an appraisal. This service is offered only at our location, if you bring us your coins it saves time and money for all parties. It is quite common to facilitate a sale of common items rather than invest in an appraisal.

Please do not clean or polish your coins or tape and glue any paper currency. This only lowers the value and damages the coins and currency. Dirt, grime, toned surfaces and wear are a natural part of metal and paper aging or be exposed to nature's elements. Originality is valuable and important for resale.
